How To Sniping On eBay | A 5 Step Guide

Sniping is a strategy used by many people on eBay to outbid the competition within the last few seconds.

Sniping techniques for the beginner

The best sniping comes from fast internet. I say this because the faster your internet connection reacts, the less time you need to wait before placing and confirming your bid. What that does is it gives any other snipers less chance to react to a bid against them

Follow these steps to snipe at the end of the auction:

  1. When there are only minutes left in the auction you plan on bidding on, press “CTRL + N” on your keyboard to open a new window so that you have the same auction open twice.
  2. Enter your maximum amount of money you would like to spend on this item in one of the opened windows.
  3. In the other window, press the Reload Button (Shortcut = F6) every couple seconds. This way you know how much time is left in the auction and also when to place your bid.
  4. When there are seconds left, click the “Place Bid” button. (Personally, I do this around 8 seconds).
  5. A confirmation screen will appear. Click “Confirm Bid” to confirm your bid when you feel it is prime time.

Note: The longer you can hold out from placing your bid the better. You don’t want to be that guy that gets outbid within the last second. If you time it right then you will sneak into auctions and win without problem! Good luck and most of all, have fun!
